Swiss Steel Group merges Swiss Steel and Steeltec

15 February 2021

The Swiss Steel Group has merged its two business units Swiss Steel and Steeltec. The new business unit is able to position itself as a powerful player in a highly competitive market environment.

Following a strategic reorganization in 2020, the Swiss Steel Group decided to recombine Swiss Steel and Steeltec in response to current market developments and in view of the joint manufacturing process established in Emmenbrücke in Switzerland. Swiss Steel produces crude steel from steel scrap and then processes the billets in its rolling mill into coils and bars. Steeltec then takes this material and draws it to make high-quality bright steels, focusing particularly on producing specialty products in the higher-strength steels sector.

By merging the two business units, the Swiss Steel Group has pooled the knowledge and skills in both areas and placed them under one roof, with the aim of making future cooperation and collaboration more flexible and even more efficient. Customers can now benefit even more from Steeltec’s complete pre- and after-sales support service across the entire value chain while also enjoying the advantages of its continuous process innovation policy to deliver optimized steel solutions for a broad variety of applications.
