Production on China National Offshore Oil Corp. Ltd’s (CNOOC) oil field in the South China Sea has started. XJ 23-1 is on Block XJ04 in the Pearl River Mouth basin, 19km east of CNOOC's XJ23-4 oil field.

Japanese trading house Sumitomo Corp’s consortium has won preferential rights to join a JPY 500 to JPY 600 billion power and water desalination project in Saudi Arabia. Malaysian power provider Malakoff Bhd and Saudi Arabia's Al Jomaih group are also in the consortium.

Aker Solutions has signed a contract with Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd in Singapore for delivery of a drilling equipment system for a semi-submersible drilling rig. The total contract value for Aker Solutions is approximately USD 210 million.
